Reaching out to others here at home, in eastern
Washington, California, Africa, Costa Rica and now
to Thailand has been a part of Calvary Community
Church for over25 years. Our mission’s program has
sent over one million dollars into the mission
field. But, never have we made such a large
commitment to God as we have in the founding of Ban
San Faan in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Fifteen orphaned
children are depending on Calvary to raise them,
teach them, and show them the loving kindness of the
living Christ...the way of salvation. What was just
an idea,
a suggestion, at a Missions Board meeting
one summer night has blossomed into a fully
operational, government licensed children’s home in
Chiang Mai. Hours of planning and miles of traveling
by first one committee and then a second
sub-committee culminated in the opening of the home
in January 2003 and one year later, the dedication
ceremony in Thailand. Sacrificial giving through
tithes and offerings now supports over 23 missions
around the world including Ban San Faan.

Reaching the children o f Thailand with a project
uniquely our own, the people of Calvary have been
richly blessed to be a part of this mission. In just
two dozen months, 30people from Calvary have
traveled to Ban San Faan to witness and work. And
more are planning to go this year and next as
Calvary launches the building of a new home that
will accommodate up to40 children plus staff and
buildings for visitors to the field. Fifteen
families from the congregation sponsor a child e ach
month with their money and their time spent writing
the children. Some have even visited the children
they sponsor. Our goal is to raise the children in a
loving environment, witnessing to them the love of
Christ Jesus. Our hope is that they will find
rewarding careers in their native country and spread
the gospel wherever they go. Our prayers are that
they follow our example in living the Word and make
others desire the peace of Christ Jesus. For this we
give God the glory for by His grace are we saved. |
