Seeking a faithful shepherd for Calvary’s next season.
Calvary Community Church is prayerfully seeking the man God would call to serve as our next Senior Pastor—a faithful expositor of Scripture, a shepherd of God’s people, and a collaborative leader who will help equip our congregation for ministry in southwest Washington.
Rooted in Scripture. Formed in community.
For nearly ninety years, Calvary has gathered people to worship Christ, learn God’s Word, grow as disciples, and serve our neighbors. We are an independent evangelical church whose members come from varied Christian traditions and unite around the essentials of the faith.
Our congregation values biblical preaching, caring relationships, missions, ministry to children and families, and practical service. We enter this transition grateful for what God has done and hopeful about how He will lead us forward.
Biblical formation
Sunday classes, home groups, men’s and women’s Bible studies, children’s ministry, youth ministry, AWANA, camps, and Vacation Bible School cultivate lifelong discipleship.
Care in action
GriefShare, Helping Hands, food outreach, FISH, Community House meals, and hands-on service express Christ’s compassion within the church and across the community.
Missions near and far
Calvary supports local and global ministry partners and has a long relationship with Ban San Faan children’s home in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
A working community with wide-open ministry opportunity.
Cowlitz County blends the Longview–Kelso urban center with smaller cities and rural communities. Its industrial heritage, multigenerational population, increasing diversity, and significant housing and economic needs call for ministry that is biblically deep, relational, accessible, and outward-facing.
Approximately 37% of county residents were represented among participating religious bodies in the 2020 U.S. Religion Census—pointing to a substantial mission field beyond the church’s walls.
