    Calvary Community Preschool provides a nurturing, faith-based learning environment in Longview, Washington, where children are known, loved, and encouraged to grow. As a ministry of Calvary Community Church, we believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and we integrate these beliefs into everything we do.

    Our mission is to offer families in the Cowlitz County area a safe, joyful, and Christ-centered preschool experience where children can learn, explore, and thrive. We strive to create a classroom environment where parents feel confident entrusting their children, knowing they are cared for with love, patience, and purpose.




    Our Preschool Program


    Our school year runs from September through May, serving 3- and 4-year-old children in a developmentally appropriate setting. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to balance teacher-led instruction and child-directed learning, allowing each child to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

    At Calvary Community Preschool, children develop foundational skills through engaging, hands-on experiences, including:

    • Letter recognition and phonics (sounds)

    • Rhyming and early literacy skills

    • Pre-writing and fine motor development

    • Number recognition and early math concepts

    • Science exploration and discovery

    • Art, music, and creative expression

    • Gross motor development and active play

    We also focus on building social skills and problem-solving abilities, helping children learn how to interact positively with others.




    Faith-Based Learning


    As a Christian preschool in Longview, WA, we intentionally incorporate faith into our daily routine. Children learn about God’s love through:

    • Bible stories and scripture memory

    • Music

    • Practicing kindness, respect, and compassion

    Our goal is to help children understand they are loved by God while learning to love and care for others.





    Community & Enrichment Opportunities


    We are proud to be an active partner in the L.E.E.P Program (Longview Early Education Partnership), which provides ongoing professional development and resources to ensure our students are well-prepared for kindergarten and beyond.

    Our program is enriched through meaningful experiences such as:

    • Field Trips (supporting local Longview-area businesses)

    • Family involvement activities

    • Thanksgiving and Christmas programs

    • Mother’s Day Tea

    • End-of-year Graduation celebration

    These opportunities help build a strong connection between school, family, and community.

We are incredibly thankful for the unique gifts, experience, and care each teacher brings to the classroom and are proud to have them as part of the Calvary Community Preschool family.

Carissa Jackson- Director

My name is Carissa Jackson, and I am the Director of Calvary Community Preschool. I bring more than 11 years of experience in education to this role. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Mathematics and Reading. I previously taught first grade in the Kelso School District and have also served as an adjunct instructor and site supervisor in Lower Columbia College’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education program.

Calvary Community Preschool holds a special place in my heart. As a member of the Calvary community and a mom of three children who have attended the preschool, I deeply value the relationships and traditions that make our school such a special place. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve our preschool families and help create a loving, Christ-centered environment where children can learn and grow. Outside of preschool, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children, baking, gardening, raising animals, reading, and serving in my church and community.

One of my favorite Bible verses is Colossians 3:12:

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." — Colossians 3:12

Monica Knoke- 4's Lead Teacher

My journey into early childhood education began in high school while working at Oregon Child Development Coalition, where I discovered my passion for teaching young children. I later attended Oregon State University to study Early Education, and although I didn’t complete my degree, I met my husband, Paul! We have been together for 22 years, married for 18, and are blessed with three daughters: Sophie (13), Kylie (10), and Lila (7). After being a stay-at-home mom, I began working at Calvary Community Preschool, where I have now been for five years. I also substitute as a paraeducator for Longview School District and volunteer in the nursery and pre-K classes at our church. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, baking, being creative, and cheering on my girls at their dance competitions and recitals!

One of my favorite Bible verses is Psalm 23:4, which became especially meaningful to me during my father's declining health. Watching his faith grow reminded me of God's constant presence, love, and comfort through life's challenges. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of the Calvary Community Preschool family and to help create a loving, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and experience God's love each day.

Brianna Lafrance- 4's Aide

My name is Brianna LaFrance and I grew up in Rainier, OR. This is my second year working at Calvary Community Preschool. I love being part of the children’s learning journey and getting to watch them grow, learn, and discover new things each day.

Outside of school, I am married and have two amazing boys. I enjoy gardening, cooking, working out, and spending time at home with my family. One of my favorite things is enjoying the simple moments and making memories with the people I love.

My favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 46:4:

“I will be your God through all your lifetime, yes even when your hair is white with age. I made you and I will care for you. I will carry you along and be your Savior!”

Mikiah Littlefield- 3's Lead Teacher

My name is Mikiah Littlefield, and this is my fifth year teaching preschool! I graduated from Central Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a reading endorsement. When I’m not teaching preschool, I enjoy staying involved in education by volunteering with the PTO and substitute teaching in elementary classrooms.

My husband, Ryan, and I have two wonderful children, Noah and Hannah. Outside of the classroom, I love running, crafting with my kids, and spending time outdoors.

Teaching young children is truly a passion of mine, and I love helping them learn, grow, and discover new things. I am so excited to be part of the Calvary Community Preschool family!

Abigail Winn- 3's Aide

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from George Fox University, where I developed a strong foundation in family systems, child development, and advocacy. My education and experience has given me a unique perspective that I have found incredibly valuable in the classroom.
After college, I spent seven years working in Child Protective Services as both an investigator and supervisor in Oregon and Texas. While I loved my time in CPS and the opportunity to support children and families, starting a family of my own led me to pursue a career that would allow me to be more present for my family while continuing to work with and advocate for children.
My husband and I have an 18-month-old daughter, and we hope to grow our family in the near future. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, crafting, taking on new projects around our home, and spending time outdoors!
